Like Singaporian guys, Korean guys should serve the military.
There is no exception for idols and celebrities.
Some people make problems as their attempt to avoid military service.

For this time, Super Junior member Kim Hee Cheol enterned to Nonsan Army Training Center.
He is goint to be trained for 4 weeks and later, he will work in one of town councles(in Singaporian term).
Because he couldn't reach the health qualification to serve as general soldiers.
Every man should apply for physical check up.
People only meet the qualification can go to real army, otherwise people should serve alternate such as public officiers.

Therefore, some people usually want not to meet the qualification ;) However, still young boys rather want to be healthy!

Anyway, Kim Hee Cheol revealed his new hair. People should have short hair cut before enter the military.

New Korean drama started and it became a big issues that JYJ's Jaejung was casted!

Rainboots are essential in rainy season.
These days, Korea is rainy season and there are many damages all over Seoul and other areas.
Hope there will not be damage anymore!

Anyway, rainboots are getting popular because of this rainy weather.

I think this item is also good in Singapore as it rain a lot here too.(it is about to rain now ;))

For today, I am going to introduce the trend of Korea make up these days.
From June to August, Korea is summer season.
How Koreans wear make-up these days?

Key words for this summer make-up is..   Pastel and Vivid color!
Pastel color has been popular since spring and vivid color is added to express hot summer!

First step. Skin

I believe all Singaporians know how it is hard to apply make-up in this hot weather.
therefore, skin make-up should be as light as possible.
Also, there is dark tanned color is popular for summer!

Second step. Eyes

Smokey eyes are still popular.
Why don't you try brown, khaki, pearled color eye liners?
It would make special poin on your eyes.

Third step. Lips.

One-point make up is hot trend make up style that applying vivid color make up eaither on eyes or lips.
If you applied strong colors on eyes or smokey eyes, try neutral color, pale pink.
otherwise, try vivid orange or red.

When you try vivid lip color, it is easy to apply too much, so do not draw border line and just apply on the middle of lips.

We should eat Samgyetang on Aug 13 - Korean food

Have you heard about Bok(伏)day?
Korea is now summer season.
During summer season, temperature is as same as Singapore's temperature.
As you know hot weather makes people exhausted. Therefore there are three special days we eat nutritious food to endure exhausting weather. 

We call those days Boknal, Chobok,Jungbok, Malbok in Korean. Between Chobok and Malbok, those days are considered hottest days. Chobok and Jungbok are already passed for this year and Malbok is left which is Auguast 13th.

In Korea we traditionally have Samgyetang on Boknals.

Samgyetang is ginsang chicken soup.

As you can see in the picture, boil whole young chicken stuffing stomach with rice, ginseng and other nutritious ingredients.
It is not only delicious also very nutritious!
Korean people eat this dish a lot in summer season to have power, especially Boknals.

Singapore is always summer, so Boknal would not be meaningful. But why don't you try Samgyetang this Malbok? You can feel strenght after you have eat also it is delicious!

"You've fallen for me" fashion style - Korean drama

New Korea Drama "You've fallen for me" is getting more popular these days.

The story starts in one art college.

This drama is the love story that two youngsters fight and love, enjoying youth life.

Main actor is Jung Yong Hwa (CN Blue) and main actress is Park Shin Hye.

As they are college students, they are dressed like real Korean college students.

Especially, Park Shin Hye's fashion drags attraction of Korean girls.

Last June 10th and 11th, there was a big K-Pop concert in Paris.
Famous singers from SM(One of biggest entertainment companies in Korea) Girls generations, Super Junior, TVXQ, F(x), Shinee, etc were in Paris to do concert.

It was very meaningful concert proving Koran idols become famous world widely.

I belive all Korean lovers already know about this concert.

After SM singers came back to Korea, some of them(Girl's generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, f(x)) showed up in the talk show(Noleowa) and taled about the concert and how hard they have trained to be singers.

They also revealed personal actions that their company(SM) prohibited.

1. Girl's generation SuYeong: She has been told not to mimick others in variety programs.

These days, drama "The Greatest Love" became one of most popular dramas.

It is passing middle of its episode.

Cast, you may not familiar with actors or actress here.

you might not be familiar with them. Gong Hyo Jin and Cha Seung Won used to be models. That is why they have such a fit body. :p
Yoon Kye Sang was a member of famous idol group GOD. After he quit GOD, he successfuly turn to actor.

Synopsis:
Ae Jung is a female band member who is already over the hill. Her image to people are pretty bad. In fact, she is kind and good, but misunderstanding and prejudice made her like that. On the other hand, Jin is one of best actors. His image is very good, but he is a bit troublesome character in real.
It is a story that Ae Jung and Jin meet and get close overcoming prejudice of people.
Also, Ae Jung enters a variety show to pretend marriage with the Yoon Pil Joo is a doctor of oriental medicine. He has no interest in the entertainment industry but meets Ae Jung by chance and falls for her.

I also enjoy watching this drama these days. waiting for wendesday and thursday.
While I watch on this drama, I notice sceanes that non Koreans might not understand.

# Episode 5.
Jin told Ae Jung that he like her, but Ae Jung refused him.

Jin was bit upset so threaten Ae Jung. In that scean, Jin talked about the novel "Dongbackkot" (Camelia flower)

This novel is written in 1936 by writer Kim Yu Jung.

It is well written novel and even posted in Middle school text book.

This is very famous novel that almost every Korean knows its story.  

It is a humorous story that 17-year-old girl like17-year-old boy in rural area.

Story: "Jumsun" and "I" lived in the same village. Jumsun continuously picked on I's rooster. "I" supposed it's because he didn't recieve potatoes that Jumsun offered. "I" didn't understand why Jumsun was so picky. One day, he found out that Jumsun's rooster was attacking his one and almost die. "I" was furious and hit Jumsun's rooster die. After then, "I" bursted out angry, worrying if his family's land would be taken out(Jumsun's father was a landlord). Jumsun told him that she's not going to tell his father so don't worry. Suddenly, "I" fell down in the middle of yellow camelia flower as if something push him.

Jin told Ae Jung metaphorically that he was going to find Ae Jung's rooster. That means he is going to find Ae Jung's weakness and picks on that to attract Ae Jung's mind.

Jin is so childish!! but it is also one of his charm :)

# Episode 8.

Jindalae kot(Azaleas)

After Pilju told Ae Jung he liked her. Jin was so worried if Ae Jung accepts him.
Therefore, Jin took Ae Jung to elementary school and confess that he got heart surgery.
He recited the poem "Jindalae Kot" at this time.

This poem is also very famous. It was written in 1925 by Kim So Wol.
This poem is famous for its beautiful words and irony.
Azelas bloom in spring beautifully. You can find those easily early in March.
Let's look into the poem(It can be bit awkward because of translation).

Azaleas

When you leave,
weary of me,
I'll bid you silent farewell

An armful of azaleas
culled from the hill
I'll strew over your path

Step after step
onthe flowers
Tread lightly, as you walk

When you leave,

I'll not shed a drop of tear.

Here, Jin showed his heart surgery scar.

He said his heart is Azaleas. In the poem, speaker said if you want to leave, you can leave. However, it is irony. In fact the speaker doesn't want her lover to leave.

That is what Jin wanted to say. :p He said he wondered if Ae Jung can leave him steping on his weak heart.

He basically threat Ae Jung not to leave. He asked her sympathy. Isn't he cute?

In The Greates Love, Jin metaphor his state to two flower and famous two literature.

I wonder which flower he will state again.
